Sweet!

You've certainly got the money invested on the homebrew side of things.

I see you have a Best Electronics 7800 light gun like me. Is yours slightly off on the aim? Mine is. Crying or Very sad

Also, is that a Jaguar controller with spinner knob for Tempest? One's I have seen had the spinner control where the normal D-pad would be located.

I like to support folks who make homebrew games. Besides, when I can get the original games on multicart, I'm happy with that.

Yes, that's the light gun and it is indeed a bit off. I have to compensate for it when I play!

Insofar as the Jaguar spinner, yes I have two of them. They work differently because of how they were made. Both are great but the one with the red knob is my preferred one.

The 2600 Peanuts Charlie Brown and the Pink Panther carts. Just curious about the story behind those games?

Peanuts is an unfinished proto that was found. It has been released by someone over in Atari Age even though there are plans to complete the game and release it when finished. The game is simple as you fly the kite and have to avoid hitting birds, etc. It does not have sound. Here is a video of the gameplay:

Pink Panther was another proto that was found incomplete. This one was finished and also sold over at Atari Age. I love the fact that it has the classic Pink Panther music playing in the background. Here is a video of the gameplay:

They look great!

I had heard rumors about Magnavox/Phillips releasing a Pink Panther game for the Odyssey 2 or Colecovision. Could have even been Atari but then the crash.

I know there is an Atari 8-bit proto of Pink Panther as well.

Here is some additional information about the Pink Panther for the 2600:
It's a 32K game with 64bytes of extra RAM, NOBODY can put this onto cart currently, it does not work in any emulator, Krokodile Cart, Cuttle Cart or Cuttle Cart 2. It uses an unknown bankswitching technique. Special circuit boards were required for this game.

Not in the strictest sense. It is a conversion from the Atari 800. What I don't know if that itself is a homebrew.

Good Deal games has it, along with a bunch of other 800 conversions. I have 5200 Battlezone and Pac Man Jr. from there. Have thought about buying some more, but the Battlezone game was so badly corroded when it arrived that I am having second thoughts.

Nintendo really gets some flack for their systems and games. To me the handhelds like the GameBoy line have still really held up well to this day.

Well, I've admit to being impressed by the backward compatibility. It is amazing. The only thing that bothers me is how small the game image is even on the newer handhelds. I end up stretching Mr. Do! to fill the screen because I refuse to play in taking only a fraction of the screen.

We'll see. Club Drive has a bad rap. It is supposed to have an awful control system. At this point I figured I'd get it no matter how bad just to say I do have a complete collection. Besides, I like to judge games myself. Far too often I find that a reviewer may downrate a game because they don't like the genre or the game is not easy.

I enjoy racing games so any review on my part would reflect that.

Congratulation's on the complete Jaguar collection.

Did not know that Mr. Do was a GB game. I thought maybe it was a GB color game.

I searched high and low for something more modern, maybe for the DS, but to no avail. I'm sure it would look nice on the DS. The one system that I know could have it is the 5200 as there is an A8 version. It just needs to be converted! I wish someone did it! Of course, it would be great game to port on the 7800 as well but it would need to be made from scratch. At least on the 5200 it's just a conversion.

Sometimes I wonder what the thinking is behind releasing a certain game over another title. Mr. Do would be a great game for the Ds or PSP.

It is to bad that some games get left behind to never be ported on a modern system.

Perhaps it is a licensing issue. Mr. Do! certainly was a hit when it was released, so I have no idea why it doesn't get more attention. I believe there is a Neo Geo version, though. That may be the most "modern" it got.

I bet the Neo Geo version would be a good one to get. So many arcade makers are no longer around. So I guess I should not blame the kids that are making the new games and just be glad that games are still being made.
