Here is a thread where you can post your most recent retro system acquisitions.  I'm going to get it started...

OK, here are the arrivals for this week.  My Intellivision Flashback is wrapped in a special, limited edition wrapper from CGE that was signed by the Blue Sky Rangers.  These were being sold with the consoles at the event but I was able to get just the wrapper since I had preordered the console already.

Yeah, I was happy to add RE 2 and Code Veronica X to my collection, but Tecmo Bowl is the one I've been playing the most lately. Very Happy

Great additions fellows.

How close is the GB version of Tecmo Bowl to the NES? I still play the NES version and have been looking for something similar in a handheld version.

While its been years since I've played Tecmo Bowl on the Nes, I'm a big fan of Super Bowl and I'm very pleased with how similar this one plays. It features 10 teams (I'm assuming the big ones at the time, like SF, NY and Dallas) and you play through each one in random order as opposed to playing through a regular season. What impresses me the most is how there are 22 men on the field and the gameplay rarely stutters. I've been playing it mainly on my Super Gameboy and I haven't noticed much flickering and it's easy to tell your teammates apart from your opponents. The Blitz games on the GBC should have used this as a template. There is also a two player mode and you do earn passwords after each victory.

If there is a design flaw, it's that, depending on your field position, you can't see down field. If your receivers are off screen and covered, then you run a great risk of throwing an interception. I know in TSB whenever I play as SF I can heave the ball down field and have Rice or Rathman catch it without fail. So if you're running a pass play then you need to read the your offense quickly. Field scaling is an issue all the Tecmo games share, however, and if it's something that has never bothered you before then it shouldn't be much of an issue here.

Not sure if the game I'm describing sounds close to what you're playing on the NES, but if you can find it cheap like I did ($4 loose) then it's an easy pick up.

Thanks! It sounds similar to the old Tecmo Bowl.

I had bought the updated Nintendo DS version Tecmo Bowl Kickoff for my son. He enjoyed it but it was not the same game as the old NES. I struggled with it. He also enjoys the latest Madden while I prefer the older versions.

It's just an OK game. It's better than the Superman Returns game, though. It cost me so little that I don't really care so much that it is just an OK game.

Interesting. I thought the flight mechanics in SR were exhilarating but the story was unfocused and the graphics weren't very pretty to look at. I'll keep at eye out for this one though. It's neither rare nor expensive as you pointed out.

You know, I had read about it and I saw it displayed by a vendor in the game room at the convention and I figured it was worth getting. I think I paid $5 for it.

Are you planning on playing Sacred Line or leaving it sealed?
I wondered if I should get a DIY kit since I missed out on the boxed version.

Received yesterday the Playstation 2 I bidded a while ago. It's the original fat model (SCPH-30004). Glad it's in perfect working condition, needs some cleaning though, especially the controller.
Like my Intellivision, the PS2 arrived without it's original box and user manual.
Never had PS2 before, now I regret I didn't buy it when it was new as it's such a big improvement over PS1. I only have GT3, GT4, Knight Rider 2 and Intellivision Lives so far for it.

Still waiting the real Intellivision Auto Racing game to arrive.

Received the Auto Racing few weeks ago, it works, has the package and instructions but overlays are missing. Noticed small difference  between the real Intellivision Auto Racing game and PS2 Intellivision Lives version in the car engine sound effect.

Also just few days ago brought my first home computer, Salora Manager (known outside Finland as Vtech Laser 2001) from my parents place to my home. Got it in 1986 and putted it away in 1989 where it sat almost all these years up until now, except once in the 90's when I tested it if it works. Didn't work too well back then but now it works. I think the TV had some faults back then which caused some problems in the video signal, thought back then that the antenna cable or the computer itself may be faulty but now there's nothing wrong with it.
Played even a game called "Locomotive" which has almost same name as Intellivisions "Locomotion" but it's completely different game Smile
