Is it the glue or what? The labels are all spotty and look terrible.

Is there a label reproduction site or some place that makes new ones?

it was an issue with the type of glue activision used iirc

Actiplaque was caused by a combination of label glue, heat, and humidity. This is one big reason I would like to see an internet cartridge label scan database created. If anyone is even slightly talented with photo editing and stitching software, then scanning and making pristine flattened labels for ink jet printing is a reality. I would begin with replacing all the bad Activision labels in my own collection.

Was it only the Atari 2600 that had this problem?

My Activision for 5200, Coleco and Intellivision do not seem to have this problem.

I have seen the Activision label problem on Intellivision and Colecovision cartridges also. My Colecovision Pitfall cartridge has lots of Acti-plaque.

This is a very real issue with the 2600 carts and I've noticed it with the 7800 carts as well. Unfortunately, some labels for Activision games are horrible (for example, the label for Rampage is nothing more than a white label with blue text). I'm with sloan, it would be nice if there were a database and new labels could be printed.

Maybe we could talk Revolutionika into starting a scan database here at retro gaming Revolution. I would gladly contribute as many label/manual scans as possible.

That would be great and this page would not have to restricted to any one particular console either!
