Do you purposely buy duplicate copies of your gaming stuff?

You know, "just in case". Personally, I don't, but have met up with gamers who do just that. Any thoughts on the matter?

Only if I buy a sealed game first.

Most times the sealed ones were cheap enough not to open them. So I went out and bought a second loose cart or disc.

I generally don't. I just do one copy. I am collecting for several consoles and space is becoming an issue.

Not only games themselves, but how about spare consoles? I have to confess that with the really old consoles, having a spare console in working condition is not such a bad idea. There is only one I lack a spare for at the moment, of the early systems, Colecovision.

I do have 2 5200 consoles but that's about the only one I have a spare for. They are indeed old machines. I will be getting a special 25th Anniversary edition of the 7800 which will serve as a second console.

First I've heard of this special edition console. Where at?

AA. It was announced 2 years ago (time flies). It is waiting for the XM to be completed to be released as it will integrate functionality of the XM.

New cases and boards, or recycled consoles?

I think it is new stuff. Been a while since I read about it. Certainly the AtariVox, the XM components, and the shell are new from what I remember.

A new 7800 I like it!!

I do not want to sound like a console keeper but: yes! Several of all the popular systems and a few computers.

Do extra's that friends have count? I loaned a friend my Intellivision III and a 7800. Same friend has extra Sears six and four switches. So I am hopeful!

I would like another 3DO and Jaguar.

Are you using these extra consoles also? I would assume that if they are just stored, they may stop working as well.

I try to rotate them as much as possible.

One of every Atari 2600 and four Coleco's(but three are iffy at best). I think the toaster Nintendo's get worse just sitting so I use a top loader. I use a Master System adaptor instead of the SMS and I have the old Snes and the newer one.

Two Turbo-16'S and two Odyssey 2's.

It gives me an excuse to hook thing up but really outside of the Nes I have not had much trouble. I changed the 72 pins and the lockout so it does not blink and they still have problems.

Cool, I figured you'd have to do that to keep them all working. Smile

That is what I keep telling myself for keeping the extras. Very Happy
